Between Film and Translation: Synergies, Contexts, Intersections

TRANSLATOLOGIA is a peer-reviewed, web-based international scientific journal, issued twice a year from 2018 by the Department of Translation Studies, Faculty of Arts, Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra, Slovakia.

TRANSLATOLOGIA is seeking original, previously unpublished papers to be included in the first issue of 2018. Submitted papers should investigate selected aspects of film communication and film translation, focusing on synergies between both areas. Researching the contexts and intersections of audiovisual communication and translation, we invite authors to cover the proposed areas:

• different languages, common audiences
• audiovisual translation as a tool for international circulation
• digital platforms and film distribution: new horizons and challenges
• remapping contexts: classification of translation modes in selected environments
• independent cinema and volunteer translation
• ideology and meaning manipulation in the language of film and translation

We welcome full paper submissions reflecting the abovementioned issues. All articles must be written in English or German and should not exceed 7,000 words.
